A few words about the scanners

Canon FS 4000US
I use this scanner to digitize slides and 35mm color or black-and-white films. Slides are scanned directly in the frames in a cassette of 4 pieces, and the film needs to be cut, the cassette fits 6 frames. The color depth is 42 bits (14 bits for each of the three colors), a three-row CCD, 4000 dpi. The resulting images are saved in JPG or TIFF format. The file size in JPG format when scanning at a resolution of 4000 dpi is 5670×3780, about 15 Mb, which is more than enough for printing in A3 size and larger.

Epson Perfection V850 Pro
This scanner is used to digitize photographs or documents up to A4 (a regular printed sheet), 35mm film and slides, medium format film up to 6×22 cm, or 4×5 inch film. The scanner’s resolution is 6400 dpi, with a color depth of 48 bits. If you scan an A4-sized photograph at maximum resolution, you get an image with a resolution of 4000 gigapixels. Which, of course, is unlikely to be needed by anyone.
